Interface for accessing AWS Transfer.

Note: Do not directly implement this interface, new methods are added to it regularly. Extend from AbstractAWSTransfer instead.

AWS Transfer Family is a fully managed service that enables the transfer of files over the the File Transfer Protocol (FTP), File Transfer Protocol over SSL (FTPS), or Secure Shell (SSH) File Transfer Protocol (SFTP) directly into and out of Amazon Simple Storage Service (Amazon S3). AWS helps you seamlessly migrate your file transfer workflows to AWS Transfer Family by integrating with existing authentication systems, and providing DNS routing with Amazon Route 53 so nothing changes for your customers and partners, or their applications. With your data in Amazon S3, you can use it with AWS services for processing, analytics, machine learning, and archiving. Instantiates an autoscaling virtual server based on the selected file transfer protocol in AWS. When you make updates to your file transfer protocol-enabled server or when you work with users, use the service-generated ServerId property that is assigned to the newly created server.

createUser

CreateUserResult createUser(CreateUserRequest createUserRequest)

Creates a user and associates them with an existing file transfer protocol-enabled server. You can only create and associate users with servers that have the IdentityProviderType set to SERVICE_MANAGED. Using parameters for CreateUser, you can specify the user name, set the home directory, store the user's public key, and assign the user's AWS Identity and Access Management (IAM) role. You can also optionally add a scope-down policy, and assign metadata with tags that can be used to group and search for users.

The response contains a description of a server's properties. When you set EndpointType to VPC, the response will contain the EndpointDetails.

StartServerResult startServer(StartServerRequest startServerRequest)

Changes the state of a file transfer protocol-enabled server from OFFLINE to ONLINE. It has no impact on a server that is already ONLINE. An ONLINE server can accept and process file transfer jobs.

The state of STARTING indicates that the server is in an intermediate state, either not fully able to respond, or not fully online. The values of START_FAILED can indicate an error condition.

No response is returned from this call.

stopServer

StopServerResult stopServer(StopServerRequest stopServerRequest)

Changes the state of a file transfer protocol-enabled server from ONLINE to OFFLINE. An OFFLINE server cannot accept and process file transfer jobs. Information tied to your server, such as server and user properties, are not affected by stopping your server. Stopping the server will not reduce or impact your file transfer protocol endpoint billing.

The state of STOPPING indicates that the server is in an intermediate state, either not fully able to respond, or not fully offline. The values of STOP_FAILED can indicate an error condition.

No response is returned from this call.

testIdentityProvider

TestIdentityProviderResult testIdentityProvider(TestIdentityProviderRequest testIdentityProviderRequest)

If the IdentityProviderType of a file transfer protocol-enabled server is API_Gateway, tests whether your API Gateway is set up successfully. We highly recommend that you call this operation to test your authentication method as soon as you create your server. By doing so, you can troubleshoot issues with the API Gateway integration to ensure that your users can successfully use the service.

UpdateUserResult updateUser(UpdateUserRequest updateUserRequest)

Assigns new properties to a user. Parameters you pass modify any or all of the following: the home directory, role, and policy for the UserName and ServerId you specify.

The response returns the ServerId and the UserName for the updated user.

shutdown

void shutdown()

Shuts down this client object, releasing any resources that might be held open. This is an optional method, and callers are not expected to call it, but can if they want to explicitly release any open resources. Once a client has been shutdown, it should not be used to make any more requests.

getCachedResponseMetadata

ResponseMetadata getCachedResponseMetadata(AmazonWebServiceRequest request)

Returns additional metadata for a previously executed successful request, typically used for debugging issues where a service isn't acting as expected. This data isn't considered part of the result data returned by an operation, so it's available through this separate, diagnostic interface.

Response metadata is only cached for a limited period of time, so if you need to access this extra diagnostic information for an executed request, you should use this method to retrieve it as soon as possible after executing a request.

Parameters:

request - The originally executed request.

Returns:

The response metadata for the specified request, or null if none is available.
