Note that zooming in and out can also be done by use of the mouse scrollwheel!

 | Draw a box on the map and zoom in to that box |

 | Center the map to a selected point |

 | Activate selection mode. Selecting features can be done by clicking on the map, or try out the right mouse menu |
 | Deselect all selected features (in all layers) |
 | Zoom to a selected feature on the map (see "How to select features") |
