Interface StreamCipher

public interface StreamCipher

Database ciphering facility uses stream ciphers. Any implementation of stream cipher which can be used by database engine should implement this interface. To create stream ciphers, implement StreamCipherProvider as a service provider interface.

void	init(@NotNull byte[] key, long iv) Initializes the cipher from scratch with specified key and initialization vector.

Method Detail

init

void init(@NotNull
          @NotNull byte[] key,
          long iv)

Initializes the cipher from scratch with specified key and initialization vector. Call to crypt(byte) will fail if the cipher is not initialized.

Parameters:

key - cipher key of a length expected by particular implementation

iv - 64-bit initialization vector

crypt

byte crypt(byte b)

Encrypts/decrypts specified byte.

Parameters:

b - byte to encrypt/decrypt

Returns:

encrypted/decrypted byte
